Job Description

A NIH-funded postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Dennis Stuehr in the Department of Inflammation and Immunity, Cleveland Clinic, USA. The scientific project aims to uncover the molecular mechanisms of heme trafficking in mammalian cells and the molecular mechanisms of heme insertion into biomedically-important heme proteins including soluble guanylyl cyclase, hemoglobin, myoglobin, cytochrome P450’s, and indoleamine and tryptophan dioxygenases. Our research approach combines biochemical, biophysical, and computational experiments on the purified proteins with confirmatory and exploratory experiments in cultured mammalian cells. Candidates with a recent or upcoming PhD with expertise in protein biochemistry, biophysics, or structural biology are invited to send their CV and names of three references to:
