Job DescriptionMissoula College at the University of Montana in Missoula invites applications for a tenure track, academic year Assistant Professor of Mathematics. We seek individuals with a passion to teach mathematics classes at the 100- and 200-level, and the ability to serve as Discipline Lead for the department’s Mathematics area. The successful candidate will begin Fall 2021.
The successful candidate will be expected to effectively teach a variety of mathematics courses, work independently and collaboratively with faculty and students, and contribute to the department, Missoula College, and University.
Candidates are required to possess a master's degree along with the appropriate credentials to teach mathematics.
Ability to identify and mentor adjunct faculty members.
Demonstrated proficiency in instructional methodology and curriculum design.
Demonstrated successful teaching in STEM areas of study, preferably in a two-year college setting.
Ability to collaborate with faculty members on other two- and four-year campuses.
Familiarity with UM academic programs, policies, and procedures.

The Department of Applied Arts and Sciences offers the Associate of Arts Degree. The Associate of Arts is a general education transfer degree and does not officially include a major or minor course of study. The mission of the Department of Applied Arts and Sciences (AASc) is to be the center of academic excellence for Missoula College students seeking academic, professional, or technical careers. AASc provides instruction in communication studies, mathematics, psychology, science, and writing studies, and the department provides developmental instruction in mathematics and writing.
