Duties & Responsibilities
The position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Science, Math, and Engineering and will teach 15 load hours per semester of primarily freshman and sophomore college level mathematics classes. Responsibilities will also include organizing and maintaining curricula in mathematics; developing and revising instructional materials; keeping student records; assisting in recommending and orienting part-time faculty; and working with college councils and committees as assigned. The instructor will maintain a minimum of five office hours per week. Day and evening classes can be expected. May be required to teach at the satellite campuses as needed.
A master’s Degree in Mathematics is required. Experience with interactive instructional methods is highly desired. The successful candidate will value diversity and have a multicultural perspective with adult/minority students; and have a high energy level along with a strong commitment to the community college philosophy. Physical Requirements: varied standing, walking, sitting, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs as related to office supplies, books or related equipment. All candidates are subject to a Criminal Background Investigation prior to any offer of employment.
