Job Description

An independent and motivated postdoctoral fellow with an interest in proteostasis in neurodegenerative disease (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and/or ALS) is sought at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. We study the cytoprotective mechanisms of the neuronally-expressed secretory chaperone proSAAS, which both blocks protein aggregation and improves functional outcomes in neurodegenerative disease models. Previous confocal experience and/or experience in cell biology, neurodegeneration, and/or proteostasis is desirable.
