Job Description

Provide for all aspects of a successful afterschool program for a cohort of MuncieP3 students at Longfellow Elementary School in Muncie, IN.    Develop positive relationships with children and provide motivational support and guidance. Assure safety and supervision of children at all times.  



The Ball State University Early Childhood Youth & Family Studies department welcomes applications for temporary part time MP3 teachers for the MP3 program at Longfellow Elementary School.  Multiple positions are available. 

Job Function:

Provide for all aspects of a successful afterschool program for a cohort of MuncieP3 students at Longfellow Elementary School in Muncie, IN.    Develop positive relationships with children and provide motivational support and guidance. Assure safety and supervision of children at all times.  


Minimum Education:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Preferred Education:

Degree from an accredited institution in education, child development, or related field.

Minimum Experience:

At least 2 years’ experience working with children in an educational setting.

Preferred Experience:

CPR/First Aid certified.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the curricular, pedagogical, and social emotional components of a grade-level 
    MuncieP3 student cohort
        

  • Initiate, develop and implement appropriate lesson plans
  • Initiate, facilitate and integrate multi-choice activities

  • Develop positive relationships with children and provide motivational support and 
    guidance
  • Use Restorative Practices to address behavioral issues and foster a positive learning 
    community
  • Identify and recommend the purchasing of supplies for classroom
  • Assure safety and supervision of children at all times
  • Plan and supervise program field trips
  • Meet regularly with MuncieP3 Program Director
  • Review program participant assessment data to inform instruction
  • Meet monthly with Longfellow school-day teachers to ensure curriculum alignment
  • Practice positive communication with teachers, assistant teachers, Program Director 
    and all support staff
  • Submit all required documentation in a timely fashion
  • Develop and maintain positive family and community relations, including regular 
    communication with families to ensure continued program partnership

  • Complete all other assigned tasks necessary for MuncieP3 to achieve its mission
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance as required by this position.
