Job DescriptionPositions are available in the McCarty laboratory in the Department of Neurosurgery and the Brain Tumor Center at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. The post-doctoral positions will involve basic and translational research in the areas of cancer cell biology and mouse models of primary and metastatic brain cancer. We are particularly interested in the brain microenvironment, including studies of how primary and metastatic tumor cells co-opt the neurovascular unit/blood-brain barrier for selective growth and survival. The post-doc will receive training and mentoring in the use of mouse models and in vitro culture systems to study cell adhesion and signaling pathways involved in tumor cell-stromal cell interactions.
All applicants should have a PhD and/or MD as well as peer-reviewed publications in internationally recognized journals. A strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology is required.
