Job Description

Summary

Research Technician II must have knowledge on molecular biology. Willing to learn to grow/genotype and phenotype Arabidopsis lines. Have experience with bioinformatics.  Candidate should be able to work with a group and participate in small group projects.

Job Duties

  • Performs cloning and transformation of bacteria, yeast and plants.  
  • Assists with tissue culture experiments. 
  • Assists with lab ordering, lab cleaning and general organization activities.
  • Keeps notes and documents work. 
  • Able to train junior level scientists. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S in biology/molecular biology or related discipline required. 
  • Experience with bioinformatics.
  • Has exposure and experience with RNA seq analysis.
