Job DescriptionThe University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus invites applications for the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Bioengineering. Successful candidates will be senior engineers and educators with demonstrated experience and capability to: 1) lead a fast-growing and exceptionally translational program to the next stage of success; 2) mentor and engage a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial group of faculty and students; and 3) develop and execute on an ambitious vision for programmatic growth across research, training, entrepreneurship, and service in bioengineering, centered as a dual-campus program on the world-renowned University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus with strategic ties to the rapidly expanding University of Colorado Denver Campus. Candidates should have an exceptional record of collaborative leadership in research, education and service, and must be eligible to be appointed as a full professor with tenure at the University of Colorado. The successful candidate is expected to develop an innovative and dynamic research program at the intersection of bioengineering and clinical / biomedical fields. Candidates with experience in building successful translational programs that bridge engineering and medicine will find an exceptionally rewarding atmosphere within and outside the department. The successful candidate will also be expected to lead and expand the department’s trajectory and commitment to supporting equity, diversity and inclusion in bioengineering and related fields.
