Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide students with a quality lab experience for development of skill competencies, under the direction of the faculty and the supervision of the Associate Dean of Health Professions.

Job Duties:

This list includes, but is not limited to the following:

Manages the daily operations of the learning labs
Under the direction of faculty organizes equipment for learning lab experiences. Locates, sets up and takes down equipment and supplies for skill demonstrations, practice, and check-offs.
Provides assistance to faculty in the use of lab equipment.
Assists students in the practice, performance, and development of skills competence according to established performance criteria.
Tests students’ skills performance identified by LPN and CNA faculty.
Manages and maintain records for the acquisition, inventory, storage, maintenance and security of all learning lab equipment and supplies for all labs associated with NIC Health Professions and Nursing.
Orders and maintains sufficient levels of all supplies in a fiscally responsible, organized and functional fashion.
Generates cost studies on a per student basis.
Acts as liaison with equipment and supply vendors.
Maintains and schedules efficient usage of the learning labs.
Trains and directs the work of part-time Lab Assistant and work-study students.
Coordinates learning lab hands-on experiences to external groups.
Manages electronic charting system and electronic med dispensing systems to be operational.
Assists in creating innovative ideas, evaluating new equipment, and identifying opportunities for technology improvement.
Assists with the management of manuals within the Learning Lab
Maintains all equipment in a functional manner and makes recommendations regarding the repair, replacement and or purchase of equipment.
Establishes and maintains a retrievable information base for individual labs, handouts, setup, and chart setup.
Submits usage reports and attendance of students as requested by faculty and the Associate Dean of Health Professions and Nursing.
Attends meetings within the Health Professions and Nursing Division as appropriate.
Provides input in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures relevant to the use and function of the learning labs.
Maintains a positive, helpful, constructive attitude and work relationship with supervisor, faculty colleagues, staff, students, and the community.

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience: Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing and a minimum of two years full-time equivalent related experience in an acute care setting.

Required License and/or Certifications:
Current Idaho nursing license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent knowledge related to nursing practices and learning lab set-up.
Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
Ability to work within a team environment.
Ability to have a flexible schedule as needed
Ability to effectively present to groups.
Proficient skills using Microsoft Office applications
Ability to operate standard office equipment including phone, fax, copier
