--- This position will serve all three OU campuses: Norman, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa.

Norman campus: Created by the Oklahoma Territorial Legislature in 1890, the University of Oklahoma is a doctoral degree-granting research university serving the educational, cultural, economic and health-care needs of the state, region and nation. OU enrolls more than 30,000 students and has 20 colleges offering 163 majors at the baccalaureate level, 166 majors at the master’s level, 81 majors at the doctoral level, 27 majors at the doctoral-professional level and 26 graduate certificates.
This position may be eligible for hybrid/remote work arrangement following the completion of 30 calendar days of employment.
Duties:
- Functions as a subject matter expert for instructional design, e-Learning technologies demonstrating up-to-date expertise in adult learning theory, best practices, various delivery modalities, and new technologies.
- Designs, develops, implements, and maintains online learning courses, hybrid courses and programs such as new employee orientation, workshops, events, tools, and resources by leveraging e Learning tools and trends to engage campus, remote and hybrid learners.
- Evaluates e-Learning programs and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Serves as an LMS administrator.
- Conducts need assessments.
- Employs a variety of learning methods and emerging technologies to reach learning outcomes.
- Identifies appropriate evaluation techniques and applies them to measure the impact of the learning experience.
- Conducts literature review of theory and evidence-based practices.
- Practices learner-centered instructional methods and alternatives to lectures that accommodate the different learning styles of adults.
- Manages projects.
- Facilitates documentation (surveys, assessments, and observations of selected activities, behaviors, or outcomes.
- Maintains current knowledge of best practices in instructional design.
- Evaluates and analyzes feedback and key metrics to measure the effectiveness of deliverables and makes recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Performs various duties including assisting with in-person sessions as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Job Requirements
--- Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: 24 months experience working in an instructional design position
Equivalency: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree for a total of 72 months of related experience
Skills:
- Learning Management System administrator and course development experience
- Knowledge and ability to appropriately apply ADA standards to online course development
- Knowledge designing courses aligned to adult learning methods and techniques
- Experience designing online courses focused on adult soft skills development
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collegially with other staff members
Working Conditions:
Physical: Sit for prolonged periods, use of a computer and telephone, ability to engage in repetitive motions, communicate effectively and listen.
