Prepares set-up trays for anesthetic, operative, prosthetic, periodontal, prophylactic, endodontic, and orthodontic dentistry.
Prepares dental equipment and materials for treatment.
Takes and develops dental radiographs (x-rays).
Follows infection control protocol and prepares and sterilizes instruments and equipment.
Greets patient and gets them situated in the treatment room.
Provides patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
Takes impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth).
May perform office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer.
Schedules appointments, answers phones, data entry, and orders supplies.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.
Job Requirements

Experience: 6 months experience as a Dental Assistant
Required to have CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification and an active Dental Assistant Permit from the OK Board of Dentistry. Ideal candidates would posess any certifications from Oklahoma Board of Dentistry in: Radiation Protection and Safety, Coronal Polishing and Topical Fluoride, Placement of Pit and Fissure Sealants, Assisting in the Administration of Nitrous Oxide
- Physical: Standing for long periods of time. Manual dexterity. Speaking, listening, walking and reaching.
- Environmental: Clinic Environment. Exposure to infectious diseases and blood borne pathogens.
