Job Description

Summary

The Department of Medicine is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and reliable Business Operations Associate to manage the day-to-day business operations for the Chairman's office of the Department of Medicine. The candidate will support management of Research, Clinical and Education Operations, including development and management of budget, reviewing staffing plans & productivity for Baylor Clinic, recommending and implementing process improvement, and various projects. The candidate will work closely with the Administrator and the Chairman. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of the Department of Medicine's mission and values and possess a relevant bachelor's degree.

Job Duties

  • Analyzes and translates trend data to drive policy and strategic planning.
  • Develops, manages, and runs reports in relation to revenue cycle, financial, and Baylor Department of Medicine operations.
  • Formulates policies and guidelines for patient experience and faculty engagement department planning.
  • Serves as central liaison for the College, the Department, patient access, EMR and IT.
  • Works with clinical enterprise stakeholders at many levels from practice managers to chairs and upper management in the centralized administrative arm.
  • Supports post-award activities including running reports and maintaining balances.
  • Coordinates with the International Services Office regarding visa requests for new employees and visa extensions for current employees.
  • Develops, manages, and controls budgets and a variety of financial data.
  • Establishes financial and operational systems to monitor, control, and verify expenditures and carry out financial analyses.
  • Assists with or manages pre-award and/or post award related tasks in support of department faculty members.
  • Assists with or manages special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant master's degree (MBA or MHA) may be considered in lieu of two years of experience.
  • Experience with SAP, Epic, SuccessFactors, and Concur.
