Job Description

A postdoctoral fellowship position is available in Dr. Ballester's laboratory to focus on developing liquid biopsies for primary and metastatic CNS tumors. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to integrate information from multiple platforms to gain insights into the pathophysiology of various neoplastic brain lesions. The candidate will work primarily with human tumor tissue and human fluid samples to develop novel approaches to study/detect circulating tumor DNA, microRNAs, and tumor metabolites. Our goal is to translate discoveries into clinically useful information to aid in the diagnosis and management (e.g., targeted therapies) of patients with brain tumors. The ideal candidate will be a PhD or MD/PhD graduate with a strong background or interest in neurooncology. Experience with molecular biology and/or next-generation sequencing techniques (e.g., targeted NGS panels, RNA-Seq, WES, ctDNA, digital PCR, and exosomes) is desirable but not required. The candidate must be a self-starter, motivated, and enthusiastic scientist.
