Job Description

Summary

The Senior Business Operations Associate provides strategic HR support to the leadership for all areas in the Research Mission Support group including Advanced Technology Cores, the Office of Clinical Research, The Office of Research IT, Sponsored Programs, and Compliance and Assurance. This position will help develop staffing plans and processes across all of these areas.

Job Duties

  • Develops staffing/workforce plans for the department, including oversight and preparation of the annual personnel budget for the department.
  • Screens, interviews and selects candidates, including offer communication and salary negotiation.
  • Handles employee conflicts within department and partners with managers and Employee Relations on any disciplinary actions, terminations, RIFs and employee retirement.
  • Manages HR analytics (PowerBI) for the department and makes recommendations based on the data.
  • Consults and advises departmental Directors and Managers on various employment issues.
  • Works with Mission Sr Manager (HR) and Executive Director (Finance) on financial impact of position changes.
  • Oversees orientation of new employees – ensuring that new employees are set up for success.
  • Oversees HR support positions to ensure accuracy and compliance in day-to-day transactions.
  • Identifies/resolves compensation issues in department and manages compensation processes within department – promotions, merits, equities, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Four years of relevant experience.
