Job Description

Summary

The Financial Analyst in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences will be responsible for performing financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and preparing routine and specialized financial reports. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for gathering and organizing data for the yearly operating budget. Other responsibilities will include processing financial transactions, and monitoring accounts. The ideal candidate would have strong analytical skills and is proficient in Microsoft Excel and SAP experience is also desired for this position.

 

Job Duties

  • Processes journal entries, deposits, check requests, purchase orders, Concur expense reports and reconciling purchasing and corporate cards transactions.
  • Provides financial, and operational support to administrative team; serve as a point of contact for monitoring and troubleshooting payments and invoices in the system and resubmit payments and reporting for activities.
  • Reviews and prepares all non-research contract agreements for the department.
  • Routes and tracks all non-research department contracts through finance and legal for approvals.
  • Responsible for personnel allocation for faculty and staff in SAP/PEPT including PACT submissions; provide support for department allocations; maintain faculty compensation updates based on approved plan.
  • Monitors accounts and ensure spending on accounts is as planned/budgeted.
  • Liaisons with outside departments to make changes to employee records as needed throughout the year.
  • Process and delegate all cost distribution requests for outside departments to ensure sourcing is consistent as budgeted and as changes are needed.
  • Works directly with the Department Administrator to manage and monitor accounting functions, accounts, budgets for all education, department and clinic accounts.
  • Tracks financial transactions (gift, endowment, donor funds/shared staff allocations/transfers/etc.) 
  • Processes Supplemental Pay Submission per pay schedule and monthly rent allocations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, MHA or Related Field
  • Experience in Financial Analysis, Reporting and Budgeting
  • Experience in SAP and Microsoft Excel
