Job Description

Summary

The Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery is seeking a Senior Coordinator, Clinical Operations. This position will perform administrative support and clinical operations responsibilities in an outpatient setting. The selected candidate will actively manage the clinic workflow between stakeholders in order to increase patient satisfaction and the number of patients who can be seen per week.

Job Duties

  • Resolves customer service issues, including billing, insurance and appointment, in person, by phone, email or MyChart - 5%
  • Ensures patient satisfaction and handles operational issues as needed - 5%
  • Responsible for collaborating with THI Outpatient Clinic Manager on improvement of Press Ganey scores - 10%
  • Participates in aspects of daily clinical operations - 10%
  • Contributes to the creation of daily clinic schedules and work activities - 10%
  • Works with clinical management to assess and determine process protocols for clinic - 5%
  • Collaborates with leadership, other clinics, and medical assistants - 10%
  • Serves as a liaison between patients, physicians, and advanced practice providers to assist patients in understanding their treatment and discharge plans - 15%
  • Instructs patients and family members on proper discharge care - 15%
  • Provides necessary health education training for patients - 12%

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidate should have experience in an outpatient clinical setting.
