Job Description:
The Sacred Heart University Department of Biology invites applications from qualified candidates for appointment to a non-tenure track position at the rank of Lecturer in the field of Microbiology for AY2023-24. Applicants are expected to demonstrate the potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching in both major and non-major courses and possess a strong appreciation for the mission of the University and its student-centered focus. In addition, applicants have the opportunity and support to develop scholarly research programs that engage undergraduates. We are seeking candidates with broad expertise and research interests in microbiology or related fields. Experience and interest to collaborate with our Brewing Science Certificate program would be considered a plus.

In addition to teaching Microbiology, the successful applicant will be expected to teach a variety of courses at diverse levels within the undergraduate Biology major programs. Teaching responsibilities could include courses in the introductory course sequence for biology, courses in the University core curriculum, and/or upper-level courses in the candidate's area of specialization.


Requirements:
PhD in Microbiology or a related field in the biological sciences are invited to apply (ABD considered). Significant teaching and post-doctoral experiences preferred.
