Summary
The Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy invites applications for our web designer/administrator position. As a member of our Communications and Outreach department, you will work closely with our Leadership Initiative, Education Policy Initiative, Poverty Solutions Initiative, and other Ford School research operations to develop, update and manage their websites and related work.You will report to the Assistant director of digital strategy, with assignments and direction coming from research operation directors and staff.

Responsibilities*
Conduct content updates, maintenance, operation, and development of web sites and web-based research tools.
Assist with the creation and update of research center web sites in addition to managing and developing their current Drupal and Wordpress sites.
Design, develop, and implement HTML email campaigns. This includes assembling and managing email lists, coding message templates, and sending campaigns following proper testing and sending procedures
Produce analytic reports for web, HTML e-mail, and social media initiatives
Assure compliance with security and accessibility requirements with web projects. Maintain site and information backups.
Develop printed materials from templates, graphics for HTML emails, and web sites as needed.
Retain current programming and design skills by taking advantage of various trainings/seminars, online and in person.
Train users in the operation of sites, tools, developed solutions, and create documentation or tutorials as needed.
Assist with running and implementing webinars, including operating slides and prepping speakers.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor’s degree in web design/development or in a related technical field, or equivalent
1+ years of professional experience developing, managing, and updating web content
Working knowledge of and experience with web-based programming languages, tools and technologies, including: PHP, MySQL, Apache, Perl, JavaScript, XML, Unix, HTML, CSS and Google Analytics
Experience with Drupal and/or Wordpress sites
Experience conducting usability testing of web sites
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
