ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Organizational Development (OD) Global Science is a key member of the Global Science PX Team and is responsible for providing OD leadership to the Global WRDM, GPD and Business Innovation organizations. This role will partner with leaders within PX as well as with ELT and ELT-1 leaders to further the objectives of end-to-end talent attraction, development and scientific capability building.  The incumbent of this role will play a critical role in the implementation of Bold Move 1 in the Global Science divisions.  An ideal candidate would be a proactive self-starter with an innate ability to manage multiple priorities, pay strong attention to detail, collaborate across the PX team, WRDM, GPD, BI, and the enterprise, and have a strong understanding of the external talent marketplace. 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Determine key scientific and leadership capabilities and development opportunities for leaders as they on-board 

  • Assess & create action plans to address competency gaps for existing key scientific talent 

  • Create best practices for partnership with PX leads regarding colleague development process (i.e. coaching, programs, etc.) 

  • Lead and advise business on development and execution of Divisional Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategic plans , in partnership with enterprise team

  • Partner with Corporate Affairs, business leaders, and other key stakeholders to ensure implementation of Bold Move 1: Unleashing the Power of our People , including divisional EVP strategies and plans to drive adoption of Lightspeed principles

  • Oversee and direct Pfizer Postdoctoral and R&D Breakthrough Rotational Program in partnership with business leader 

  • Work with talent acquisition to oversee executive recruitment for Global Science organization, including management and optimization of relationship with niche, external firms 
  • Partner with PX Leads, WRDM, GPD, and BI LT members, and Talent Acquisition to proactively identify a strategic workforce plans for each functional line that links organizational strategy with current and future talent landscape (internal and external) in order to ensure a more robust and proactive talent strategy across Pfizer’s Global Science organizations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required 
  • 15 years of experience required with 10 years of related HR experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to influence business leaders 
  • Ability to manage ambiguity 
  • Strong capability to operate effectively in multi-cultural/international environments and to work with a variety of leaders from different backgrounds and experiences 
  • Strong project management skills 
  • Strong interpersonal, written & oral communication, presentation, training and relationship building skills 
  • Human resources generalist knowledge a plus 
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA, MA in Organizational Development, Human Resources Management or related field a plus 

  • Previous experience building and leveraging strategic workforce planning

  • Track record working successfully with R&D populations
