The successful candidate will be conducting laboratory research in biochemistry studies. The work involves knowledge in protein expression, protein purification, protein characterization and structural biology. The postdoc will be responsible for:

1) leading experiments and conducting research on specific areas of study as assigned

2) preparing research reports and technical papers for publishing

3) communicating results through lab presentations, publications, and conferences

4) working and supporting student and collaborating with different research teams within and outside of Oklahoma University

5) assisting staff in maintaining safe/clean environment

1) Doctoral degree in Chemistry, Protein Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Crystallography, or related discipline

2) Publication record in the area of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical and Biological Engineering, or related fields

3) Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data

4) Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems

5) Experience training and mentoring junior scientists

6) Demonstrated ability to work in a team and build effective relationships. 

7) Demonstrated curiosity, motivation to be challenged, and excitement to conduct laboratory research

8) Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (one or more):

1) Experience with the expression and purification of oxygen-sensitive proteins and enzymes

2) Knowledge of crystallography

3) Knowledge of microbiology, molecular biology

4) Knowledge of programming
