Job Description
As a Fitness Specialist, you will assist with the daily supervision and administration of exercise activities for oncology patients.

Responsibilities:
- Supervises exercise activities, monitors exercising participants and interacts with members to ensure that exercise programs are carried out in a safe and effective manner.
- Creates, implements and evaluates incentive programs to enhance exercise adherence and retention.
- Assists with the development and instruction of group exercise classes.
- Teaches participants on class method, purpose and procedures. Carries out other projects and duties as assigned by department supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's Degree required.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in exercise-related field preferred.
Languages:
- N/A
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- First-Aid, ACE and CSCS preferred.
Appropriate certification as determined by classes, e.g., NDEITA, ACE, or any current professional certification from a nationally recognized organization in the health/fitness industry preferred.
Complexity of Work:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
- One year experience in a Fitness Center environment with a background in program management and/or exercise testing desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to maneuver, carry, lift, bend, stoop, swim, walk and sit for extended periods of time.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
