Job Description

  • Support the efforts leading to the success of our international students as well as all of our students and staff as they explore global initiatives in terms of learning, research, and community engagement.
  • Assist the Directors of the Rinker Center for Global Affairs in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
  • Manage proposals and documentations related to the center’s activities including, but not limited to, the university’s study abroad programs, activities, and partnership operations; and work with university faculty, partner universities, and providers in developing programs and international agreements.
  • Foster, create, and implement new curriculum related international opportunities for students.
  • Serve as application and database administrator: develop programs webpages, customize application requirements, manage student admissions, generate data for reporting; troubleshoot software/user issues.
  • Develop and maintain office policies, procedures, protocols and reporting.

Job Function:

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Preferred Education:

Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum Experience:

  • One year of experience working within an advising/mentoring/teaching capacity in higher education.
  • Experience working with database operations.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with international programming.
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems used by the institution like Banner and Curriculum Strategy or other curriculum management systems.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessmen
  • Experience working with Terra Dotta
  • Work experience in a large, public university; experience living in a foreign country.
  • Understanding of issues related to course transfer and matriculation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Director and Directors of the Rinker Center for Global Affairs in carrying out their duties and responsibilities, including support of international partnerships and agreements, global scholar distinction programs for faculty and students, the internationalization of the campus and the curriculum, social/cultural programming, study abroad, and data support.
  • Create and implement new curricular components and initiatives fostering international opportunities for students, especially as it relates to HIPs, societal issues and/or global challenges.
  • In collaboration with the Directors, develop, implement, and maintain assessment mechanisms of the different curricular programs and other initiatives in the Rinker Center for Global Affairs; generate and provide information to students and academic units about these programs and initiatives. Maintain data about assessment as needed.
  • Design and implement recruitment strategies for programs initiated and supported in the Rinker Center for Global Affairs. Provide support for social and cultural programming, events, and outreach, including data support.
  • Serve as Terra Dotta systems database administrator: develop program webpages, customize application requirements, manage student admissions, generate data for reporting; troubleshoot software/user issues
  • Assist the Directors in the development and maintenance of office policies, procedures, and protocol and reporting, including Global partnerships, Study Abroad/Study Away, and HIPs experiences.
  • Support an evolving portfolio of programs and partnerships within the Rinker Center for Global Affairs, including data support, communications support, outreach, research of best practices, and other special projects as needed.
  • Represent the university at international education conferences, meetings, and partnership visits.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain predictable and reliable attendance.
