Responsibilities:

• ​Correctly follows nurse/therapist instructions, utilizes proper body mechanics and attends to patient safety.
• Reports unusual observations to supervisor.
• Works with nurse/therapist to achieve optimal patient care/satisfaction by responding to nursing/therapy directions and physicians orders.
• Monitors processes to improve service within department/facility.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education:

• High School graduate or GED equivalent.

Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certified or must obtain within first year.

Work Experience:

• One year experience in a patient care setting.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Required standing and walking for six to eight hours in an eight hour shift.
• Frequently requires lifting and turning patients, and carrying items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions.
• Requires some exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids or potentially infectious materials.
