The Economics Department in the College of Business, The University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for Department Chair.

Department and College/School Information
The College of Business includes six academic departments with more than 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The Economics Department includes 8 tenured/tenure-track and 10 fulltime non-tenure-track faculty. The Department offers a BBA in Economics, BS in Economics (STEM), and MS in Economic Data Analytics (STEM). Visit the department website.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Chair will provide vision and leadership for the department to achieve world-class research excellence while continuing the tradition of its high-quality teaching programs. The Chair is responsible for supervising the personnel, budget, and general operations of the department; facilitating the accomplishment of university, college, and departmental goals; promoting opportunities for faculty development activities; and working in a collegial manner with faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
A doctoral degree in Business or a closely related area from an accredited institution is required.
Candidates should possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and have a strong record of scholarship and teaching commensurate with appointment as Department Chair.
They should also have a strong commitment to the purpose and goals of public higher education.
Candidates must be able to qualify for a tenured faculty position in the College of Business.
