Job Summary
The Web Software Specialist is responsible for website production and maintenance for the Division of Student Affairs providing support for its 22 departments and programs. Will be engaged in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining content for web sites. Will address the needs of faculty, staff, students and the public with content for web & knowledge base. This will be accomplished by building knowledge delivery schemes to engage and educate faculty, staff and students on the DSA’s programs, service offering, events and initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Create media and communications using technologies (HTML5, CSS3, PHP and/or CMS) and tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint and Premiere) to achieve division/department goals, support project needs and accomplish client objectives. Prioritize and facilitate requested site updates and edits.
Publish content on content management systems (CMS) such as Cascade, Sitecore, Drupal, Joomla, and/or WordPress. Monitor division’s web sites for functionality, accessibility and compliance with industry best practices and university policy including language use, spelling, broken links, accessibility, privacy (GDPR) and search engine optimization (SEO).
Monitors and reports on web site analytics, user behavior, and usage trends.
Formulate wireframes and comp files to translate customer needs into viable web and multimedia formats.
Coordinate support and logistics, and make critical decisions in collaboration with identified key stakeholders and campus partners.
Assist with the creation of textual and visual content for print and web-based systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with two (2) years of experience in a related field or the equivalent total experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and Photoshop.
Demonstrated knowledge in the use of current technologies, analytic tools and web development practices.
Solid oral and written communication skills.
Initiative to work independently and in collaboration with diverse teams.
Organized and detail-oriented.
Adept at managing time, resources and projects effectively.
Ability and knowledge to function as the subject matter expect on web technology, site development and programming best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Four (4) years of experience with a demonstrated knowledge of the following:
HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, Google Analytics, Site Improve, Data Studio, Bootstrap, SASS, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, Adobe Lightroom and/or content management systems.
Ability to construct reusable components and manage content libraries/archives for future use.
