Associate Research Scientist

Single Cell Biology | Scientific Services

Farmington, CT

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Single Cell Biology (SCBL) Scientific Service team as an Associate Research Scientist. The ideal candidate will have a background in developing and establishing 3D cellular models and high content screening assays, liquid handling automation as well as expertise with single cell assays. This role requires strong expertise in 3D cell culture development, microscopy, image analysis, programming skills in Python, R or Matlab, data interpretation and excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. The Associate Research Scientist will work closely with the SCBL team to provide scientific services to the research community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and establish 3D/2D cellular models and high content screening assays

• Optimize protocols for sample preparation, staining, and imaging

• Conduct imaging experiments using high-throughput microscopy platforms

• Perform image analysis using various software programs

• Develop and optimize single cell assays using liquid handling and automation

• Collaborate with other scientists to design experiments and analyze data

• Prepare and present scientific data to internal and external stakeholders

• Maintain laboratory equipment and reagents

• Stay current with scientific literature and new technologies in the field

Qualifications:

• PhD in Cell Biology, Bioengineering, Biophysics, or related field and up to 3 years of postdoctoral training

• Strong expertise in developing and establishing 3D/2D cellular models and high content screening assays

• Experience with IPSC and stem cell cultures, primary cell culture, human biopsies

• Expertise with single cell assays

• Expertise with liquid handling and automation

• Experience in microscopy and image analysis

• Strong programming skills in Python, R or Matlab

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
