Summary
The Department of Family and Community Medicine has an immediate opening for a Research Coordinator. This position will provide support for a prostate cancer project. This individual must be a flexible and detail-oriented professional who can quickly adapt to a variety of situations.
Job Duties
- Provide general research coordinator support for a prostate and colorectal cancer project, under the supervision of Sr. Programmer/Analyst.
- Administer all project-related questionnaires and forms including screening, recruiting and obtaining consents for the study.
- Performs venipuncture (blood draws) from study participants and spins blood to obtain plasma
- Maintains records and regulatory documents for the study • Schedule research participants for tests and procedures
- Liaison with multiple departments within BCM as well as outside institutions to comply with procedures and accurate data transfer/integrity.
- Enters data into project database.
- Corresponds with patients throughout the study.
- Order supplies and equipment. • Attend weekly project meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Oncology experience is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Fluency in Spanish
- Self-directed, independent and organized.
