Title: Project Intern 

Division: Molecular & Human Genetics (80001004)  

Department: Molecular & Human Genetics - Bellen Lab (90002279) 

Location: Houston (1100) 

Salary Range: Up to $16.50 per hour 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am -10:00am 

Employment Duration: Part-time 

FLSA Status: Nonexempt 

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine's Department of Molecular and Human Genetics is seeking a Project Intern to assist with the generation and characterization of Drosophila genetic reagents to model human diseases. The Intern will be trained to perform phenotyping behavioral assays such as climbing and molecular techniques such as genotyping. The candidate will also learn how to analyze data.

Job Duties

  • Assists with the generation and characterization of Drosophila genetic reagents to model human diseases.
  • Learns to perform phenotyping behavioral assays such as climbing and molecular techniques such as genotyping.
  • Learns how to analyze data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
  • No experience required.
