Salary Range: $31,581 - $42,714 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM 

Employment Duration: Full-time 

FLSA Status: Nonexempt 

Summary

Full-time research coordinator position at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine. The RC-1 will be involved with research projects funded by the National Cancer Institute examining neurocognitive outcomes following diagnosis and treatment for childhood leukemia. The RC-1 will coordinate day to day activities of clinical research protocols and will ensure recruitment, accurate data collection, documentation, and management. The successful applicant will undergo training in administration of neurocognitive assessments.

Job Duties

  • Schedules study visits -Obtained informed consent
  • Administer participant incentives -Determine eligibility
  • Recruitment of research participants
  • Conducts testing procedures required by study protocols, which includes administering neuropsychological tests to patients, scoring neuropsychological tests, reporting test scores to the supervising psychologist, and assisting in interpreting the results.
  • Conducts medical chart abstractions -Manages patient research files
  • Prepares documentation necessary to obtain initial and continued approval for specific research protocols
  • Develops and maintains databases in Microsoft Excel and statistical software packages (i.e., SPSS).
  • Completes all required training modules related to the Responsible Conduct of Research
  • Responsible for assigning activities to other study staff

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Interest in interacting with children and families in a medical setting.
  • Highly organized and able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to understand and implement patient studies/protocols.
  • Respectful, patient-centered interactions with participants, medical providers, and staff are expected at all times.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English).
