Job Description

Postdoctoral Associate – Systems Neuroscience of Energy Balance and Obesity

The O’Connell Lab at The Jackson Laboratory is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in systems neuroscience of obesity and energy balance. We are interested in the role of gene – environment interactions in determining individual risk for obesity and related comorbidities, including age-related neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s. The lab uses interdisciplinary approaches including Patch-seq for multimodal characterization of functional, morphological, and gene expression changes in single neurons. Projects may also employ in vivo Ca2+ imaging using fiber photometry, optogenetics, and chemogenetics in genetically diverse mouse models.
