Summary

Dr. Bert O'Malley, (Chancellor of Baylor College of Medicine) holds research labs in the scientific research area ofHormone action, coactivator function, eukaryotic gene expression, gene therapy, nanotechnology.

Job Duties

  • Operates all the instrumentation needed for the projects (training will be provided as needed).
  • Documents experimental procedures in precise details.
  • Collects and compiles imaging and cell culture data.
  • Prepares reagents and solutions.
  • Performs experimental work as needed that includeslive cell experiments and cell culture (2D/3D).
  • Troubleshoots problematic results.
  • Collects and performs experiments using primary cells from animals.
  • Manages a limited number of mouse colonies.
  • Interacts directly and reports to the drug development team.
  • Maintains core laboratory organization andmonitors lab reagents.
  • Optimizes novel assays and protocols under the drug development team guidance.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
