Summary
The Research Administration Associate supports Baylor's clinical and biomedical research initiatives through managing the full life cycle of research agreement. The RAA is responsible for drafting, negotiating, and managing all contracts related to material transfer agreements. The RAA is responsible for ensuring that all terms and conditions of the contract are acceptable in accordance with BCM standards, ensures the safety of our animal and human subjects, and ensures that all provisions are to the best interest of BCM and its principal investigators.
This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Employees with CRA certification are eligible for certification pay.
Job Duties
- Handles the negotiation and processing of research agreements
- Handles the drafting, negotiation, execution and processing of material transfer and data use agreements
- Manages the execution process in the MTA and DTA tracking system
- Consistently updates the agreements database throughout the life cycle of each contract
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S, Ph.D, or Professional masters in Life Sciences may be considered in lieu of required experience
- Prior contract management and negotiation experience
- Prior research administration work experience in academic research setting
