Job DescriptionThe Project Coordinator reports to the director of Academic Advising Initiatives to support academic advising initiatives within the unit. This position organizes and manages the various parts of multiple projects to ensure its success which includes assigning and monitoring tasks associated with each project as well as effectively communicating the progress of each project with the rest of the team. These projects include but are not limited to Advisor of the Month, Thank an Advisor, annual Advising Matters Conference, Majors and Minors Fair, and Annual Advising Awards. This position develops publications both for the above mentioned projects as well as social media and other resource materials for the unit such as monthly newsletters for the advising community. Professionalism, excellent time management skills, organization, and flexibility are a must to manage the fast-paced environment of the department.
Required Qualifications
Project coordinating experience in an academic or professional office setting; experience in event management; experience in developing publications and social media publications; proficiency in the use of standard office software such as Microsoft Office; experience with computer functions such as word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations; ability to delegate, track and manage multiple projects at one time; excellent analytical and interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate and collaborate with faculty, senior administrators, and all staff within the organization. Must be able to work with integrity, and high degree of customer service. Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse clientele.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration or related field, or equivalent level of training or experience; experience in administrative logistics including special event and meeting management; experience developing and maintaining social media pages; experience coordinating technology initiatives. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office independently managing multiple assignments, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
