Job Description

Summary

The Research Administration Associate will provide pre and post award support for two senior faculty and their laboratories.  This will include large, multi-PI program project grants, research administration compliance and financial management. The work will also include renewals, progress reports and reconciliations.

 

Employees with CRA certification are eligible for certification pay.

 

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Job Duties

  • Manage large program project grants such as U54 and U01s which are co-operative agreements
  • Manage the compliance initiatives of research administration for the lab(s)
  • Process and submit grant proposals to Central Sponsored Programs Office, to include carryforwards, no-cost extensions, progress reports, and other prior-approvals
  • Provide direct research administration support to two senior, heavily-funded faculty
  • Reconcile issues related to research compliance
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for assigned faculty
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for the two labs
  • Manage numerous foreign collaborators and contracts

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.  Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Research compliance knowledge/experience 
  • Must be organized, highly detail oriented, able to multitask and able to work well in a team environment
  • Must be skilled at research administration, particularly research compliance
