Summary

The Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Business Operations Associate. This role will perform daily business and financial operations for the Department. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage previous experience to implement new and updated processes to support operations.

 

The Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine provides personalized care for patients with neurological disease, trains medical students and residents in clinical care and research, conducts research to advance the art and science of neurology, and provides meaningful new therapies for patients.

Job Duties

 

50% Financial Management: 
• Performs financial activities such as monthly budget forecasting, supplemental pay, and personnel effort distributions. 
• Monitors various department budgets to maintain expense targets.
• Provides oversight and quality assurance for affiliate billing and compensation related activities (e.g., AMS, IOM). 
• Assesses budget availability and compliance for travel and faculty expenses. 

30% Operations: 
• Reviews and provides level one approval for procurement requests.  
• Provides facilities administration for McNair, Neurosensory, and Main Baylor locations. 
• Implements and oversees compliance with departmental policies and procedures. 

20% Special Projects: 
• Leads process improvement projects across the department to support streamlining and increased efficiency.
• Collaborates across the department to maintain the Department communication platform including website management, social media management and annual reports.
 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree. 
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Business, Public Health or Health Administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in operations, finance, and/or healthcare administration. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to display a professional and positive attitude.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across the Department. 
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, efficient, and strong organizational skills.
