Job Description

Summary

The Department of Medicine is seeking an experienced Clinical Operations Manager to lead the clinical operations of our Internal Medicine and Geriatrics Outpatient Clinics located at the Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center McNair Campus and at our San Felipe Clinic.  The Outpatient Clinics comprises of 15 faculty members and 24 staff. 

 

The ideal candidate will partner with section leadership to develop and implement the overall vision for the outpatient clinics, independently manage daily operations, and utilize financial and clinical metrics to identify and address challenges.  The ideal candidate will also have experience as a practice manager or a clinical administrator.

Job Duties

  • Ensures efficient daily operations for the General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics outpatient clinics
  • Manages employees at multiple clinics including defining work responsibilities and prioritization, setting performance development plans and goals, and conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • Responsible for physician scheduling and schedule management using QGenda and EPIC.
  • Manages supplemental pay requests, reimbursements, supply requests, and other program expenses.
  • Monitors budgets, financial/operational data related to all clinical programs.
  • Assists with program development, network integrity, referral capture, and marketing initiatives required for successful growth of the clinical practice.
  • Develops, prepares, and interprets program data to provide actionable reports for physician leadership and section administration.
  • Identifies opportunities for business and clinical process improvement and manages process improvement projects.
  • Develops plans for improving utilization of resources and maintaining practice efficiency while seeking to minimize operational costs. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Four years of relevant experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s in a related field.
  • Experience with outpatient clinics.
