What You Will Achieve

The Operation Professional is a role within McPherson Operations supporting technical business needs related to all aspects of manufacturing.  This role partners with the business units on new product/processes including development, implementation, and life-cycle management phases). This role will also partner with Quality Investigations on issue resolution including (root-cause analysis and CAPA development and execution). Additionally, this role will lead continuous improvement activities including (cost improvement initiatives and Operational reliability). 

How You Will Achieve It 

  • Contribute to completion of project milestones and organize own work to meet project task deadlines.
  • Applies project management skills to lead and participate in cross-functional teams to deliver objectives on time.
  • Capable of detecting technical problems and assisting the appropriate colleagues for resolution.
  • Able to collect and assemble applicable, vital information for recommendations to Production Supervisors and/or Manufacturing Process Engineers to assist in troubleshooting and decision making.
  • Represent Operations on project teams which include: development, cost improvement, reliability, and other operation key projects.
  • Direct and support feasibility line trials, engineering runs, batch documentation generation/updates, validation studies, regulatory submission data, and commercial launch planning.
  • Actively identify and implement improvements in manufacturing procedures or processes.  Apply operational excellence tools supporting continuous improvement to deliver measurable gains/efficiencies. 
  • Conduct all activities that are in accordance with company policies and Standard Operating Procedures, Pfizer Values, and global regulatory guidelines, environmental guidelines, as appropriate.
  • Provide input and revise Standard Operating Procedures, batch records, forms or other {Current} Good Manufacturing Practices {part of GxP} related documents to support continuous improvement efforts, investigation corrective actions etc.
  • Track and follow-up on departmental commitments, investigations, change controls and general compliance initiatives.

Qualifications

Must-Haves

  • Bachelors degree with 0+ years of experience OR an associates degree with 4 years of experience OR a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 6 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Manufacturing, preferably a regulated field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to efficiently use current computer packages including Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and Word

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in a biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical {Current} Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Knowledge of the Visual Inspection Process within the Pharma Industry

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Limited travel may be required.  Non-standard work hour support of global conference calls or line support of 24/7 manufacturing, etc. required when needed, though not typical of weekly requirements.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
