Job Description

Position Purpose
This new position will support a robust communications program that elevates the profile of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and creates a culture of pride and excellence. The manager drives the creation of compelling content that engages faculty, staff, students, alums, and the public. A staff member in the Office of Communications, the manager reports to the director of communications for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. The position can be performed remotely, on-site, or in a hybrid fashion.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Undergraduate degree in communications, journalism, or related field.
4-6 years of experience working in communication.
Demonstrated proficiency in writing and editing complex content based on target audience, with ability to provide context and/or reshape material as needed in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
Experience with key communications technologies, including but not limited to Canva, Drupal, third-party email systems, and social media management systems.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion, adhering to deadlines, within budget, and with high quality.
Ability to develop and execute a communications strategy for a dynamic department within a complex organization.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build consensus among diverse groups of people.
Superb writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Demonstrated initiative; outcome-driven, resourceful, and committed to excellence.
Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative team.
