Job Description
Perform Phase 1, Phase 2, or Phase 3 archaeological surveys and related laboratory analysis as assigned by Director, under direction of Crew Chief, Field Director, and/or Principal Investigator.
Job Function:
Perform Phase 1, Phase 2, or Phase 3 archaeological surveys and related laboratory analysis as assigned by Director, under direction of Crew Chief, Field Director, and/or Principal Investigator.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology or related field with relevant training in Anthropology and/or Archaeology.
Preferred Education:
Training in laboratory analysis of prehistoric cultural materials.
Attendance at an archaeological field school, particularly with a pre-contact component.
Attendance at an archaeological field school, particularly with a pre-contact component.
Minimum Experience:
At least 120 hours of archaeological experience in Cultural Resource Management or under similar working conditions.
Preferred Experience:
200+ hours of Cultural Resource Management experience in archaeology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform reconnaissance survey, including surface collection and/or shovel test pit survey.
- Record standard field notes, including photographs, maps, and textual descriptions as appropriate.
- Collaborate with team members to accomplish project goals.
- Perform, independently or as part of a team, test unit excavation in controlled manner.
- Other related duties as assigned by Principal Investigator or Crew Chief.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
