The College of Allied Health Sciences at Augusta University trains and educates today's health care professionals: the therapists, technicians, administrators, managers, and assistants who are the backbone of our country's health care workforce.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for interacting with prospective students as well as first-year students attending our program here on campus. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other systems is necessary to complete job functions. This position organizes and coordinates our Admissions process ' handling over 500 applications vying for the 48 seats in our program within our system to managing the registrations, course assignments, schedules, grades, drop/adds, classroom reservations, and book ordering for our 48 accepted students throughout their first year of lectures on our campus.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

ADMISSION COORDINATOR:
Student Admissions Advisor/ Recruiter: Advise potential MPA applicants via phone and email. Meet with potential applicants to advise and conduct departmental tours. Utilize Slate and CASPA to identify new applications and supporting documents. Compile each applicant's folder containing supporting documents. Meet with Admissions Director and Admissions Associate Director weekly for updates on applicants by number, decisions, and interview dates.

Student Admissions Advisor/Recruiter: Analyze each application to determine eligibility and ranking. Prepare a summary for easy review by Admissions Committee members. Plan and attend Admissions Committee meetings. Prepare Action Forms for each applicant (accepted, alternates, and rejections). Contact accepted applicants and alternates and inform of decision. Analyze remaining applications and advise rejected applicants to plan strategies for re-applying. Maintain contact with incoming students throughout the summer to plan and prepare for the start of the Fall Semester. Liaison to office of Academic Admissions.

DIDACTIC YEAR ACADEMIC COORDINATOR: Utilize Banner to enter the next semesters course offerings. Enter course classifications, descriptions, schedules, rooms, books, etc. Update CRNs in Banner prior to registration. Collaborate with faculty to determine room needs, schedules, etc. Monitor MPA student registration in Pulse. Notify students of open registration dates and deadlines. Prepare drop/add forms when necessary. Verify submission of grades by faculty for MPA courses. Print records and deliver to Registrar by deadline. Prepare grade notification letters and mail to students. Track completion of incomplete work by students and advise faculty of approaching deadlines. Prepare grade changes when necessary. Retain grade reports. Obtain updates GPAs from Registrar Verify each student registered in each class. Submit rosters to the Registrar. Prepare Drop/Add form for non-registered students. Contact Course Directors to obtain book titles for next semester. Research ISBNs, prices, etc. Prepare a book list for each class and provide via e-mail.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and six years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions.

OR

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of three years' progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions.


Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Detailed-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
Banner, Web-Extender
Pulse, Monthly Leave, PeopleSoft, One45, Crystal Reports, Degree Works, etc.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer.

Shift: Days/ M/F

Pay Grade: 10

Salary: Minimum $15.00/ hour - Midpoint $17.03/ hour

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
