Responsibilities
The Gaffney Lab is hiring for a Postdoctoral Fellow who will design and conduct research experiments; manage research projects; and prepare reports and papers for publication, presentation and future research. This is a mentored position for postdoctoral training.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in a biological science, chemistry, physics or other relevant area, M.D., or equivalent. Knowledge of the principles and practices of scientific theory and research; demonstrates skill in formulating and testing hypotheses; ability to conduct scientific research experiments; to analyze and summarize data and results; ability to write technical, scientific papers; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. The prospective candidate must have experience in these functional assay techniques:• Extracellular vesicle enrichment from planarian tissue,• Capillary-based Western blot ("Wes"),• In vivo microinjection,• Dissociation, fixation, and immunolabeling of planarian cells,• Flow cytometry,• dsRNA synthesis and RNAi, • Planarian colony care and maintenance
