Licensed Vocational Nurse II

Under the supervision of a licensed provider or RN, the LVN supports patient care by collecting clinical data, monitoring patient status, and assisting with exams and procedures across all age groups. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential to contribute to high-quality, compassionate care.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Patient Preparation & Intake: Review charts, gather vital signs, perform initial screenings, and document findings accurately.
  • Clinical Support: Assist with exams, administer medications and immunizations, perform phlebotomy, manage CVADs (if certified), and conduct basic nursing procedures.
  • Patient Flow & Communication: Ensure smooth patient flow, update patients on delays, coordinate referrals, and facilitate communication between providers and patients (including translation support).
  • Administrative Duties: Support clinical operations with clerical tasks (answering calls, scheduling), maintain supplies and clean clinical areas.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintain infection control, monitor equipment, protect PHI, and participate in emergency response and evacuation procedures.
  • Documentation & EHR Support: Update EHR with orders, lab results, and patient education.
  • Professional Development: Attend meetings, complete required training, and demonstrate annual competency.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Completion of a licensed vocational nursing program
  • 1 year of work experience as an LVN in a medical environment
  • Current LVN licensure in the State of California. Must successfully complete and maintain BLS certification

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $30.36 - $45.53 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
