Qualifications:
Survey of Chemistry (Chem 105) provides an introduction to topics in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry. This course is designed primarily for kinesiology students. Topics include matter and measurement, atoms and compounds; organic compounds; solutions; biomolecules; metabolism.
This course will be taught in person on the Moraga campus during the 2025 Fall term on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:15 - 9:05 am.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
The successful candidate will hold an advanced degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field; and undergraduate teaching experience in organic chemistry, biochemistry, or molecular biology, OR teaching experience in any subfield of chemistry and research experience in organic and/or biochemistry. Preference will be given to those who have previously taught the course or CHEM-002.
This position requires all coursework to be performed in the state of California.
The salary range for this position is $9,929 - $13,744 (4 wu) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
