Position DescriptionPOSITION: The Department of Management and Marketing in the School of Business at the College of Charleston seeks qualified applicants for a full-time Marketing Visiting Instructor starting early January 2026. Applicants should demonstrate competency and interest in teaching in one or more of a variety of marketing classes at the undergraduate and potentially graduate levels. Desirable areas of interest include but are not limited to principles of marketing, sales, retail, advertising, marketing strategy, and marketing management. This visiting position is renewable up to three years if funding is available.
Responsibilities include:
Teaching four courses per semester in marketing at the undergraduate and possible graduate levels with no more than 2 course preps per semester.
Developing new courses as they relate to the strategic objectives of the Department and the School by utilizing innovative teaching methods to enhance the success of diverse learners.
Serving as faculty mentor to undergraduate and graduate members of our AMA collegiate chapter, supporting student leadership, event planning, and professional development while fostering a vibrant, career-focused marketing community.
Engaging in service activities such as student event programming, community outreach, mentoring, and committee assignments.
Engaging in and involving various activities that increase the instructor’s knowledge and exemplify pedagogical expertise.
Preference will be given to candidates who are at the forefront of advancements in the field of marketing and who are willing to bring those insights into the classroom. Ideal candidates will have significant industry experience in marketing, as well as some teaching experience in basic and upper-level marketing courses at an AACSB-accredited business school. We further are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, collegial, engaged with students, good communicators, and team players.
