Job Description

The School of Nursing at Boise State University invites applications for three full-time faculty positions in Nursing. These are open-rank (Assistant or Associate Professor) and open-track (Tenure or Clinical) positions. Appointment rank and track will be determined based on the candidate's teaching experience, scholarly record, and professional contributions. Tenure-track candidates must meet the University's tenure-eligibility requirements. We are open to various Nursing specialties and areas of focus.

The ideal start date for these positions is August 2026. These positions are location-specific to the Boise State University campus and require in-person, pre-license BS program teaching.

Clinical Faculty will focus primarily on teaching students in both academic and clinical settings, supervising clinical experiences, and engaging in professionally related community service. While they may participate in research or scholarship activities, they are not required to do so as part of their regular assignment.

Tenure-Track Faculty will teach, conduct research, develop a strong scholarly agenda in nursing or a closely related field, and participate in service activities.

Candidates should be technologically competent and skilled in using technology to enhance student learning.

These positions primarily focus on teaching in the learning lab, simulation lab, and clinical settings. The majority of instructional responsibilities will take place in these applied learning environments rather than in traditional didactic classrooms. As the program continues to expand, opportunities for didactic teaching assignments may become available.

Workload will be determined at the time of appointment and varies by track:

Tenure-Track Faculty: Standard workload is 60% teaching, 20% scholarship, and 20% service.

Clinical Faculty: Standard workload is 80% teaching and 20% service, typically equivalent to approximately 12 hours of combined didactic, clinical, lab, and/or simulation instruction per semester.

Adjustments will be made based on research productivity, coordination duties, and service responsibilities, as negotiated with the Director and approved by the Dean.
