Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The School of Education oversees the university’s educator preparation program (EPP). The EPP is multifaceted and provides many services and programming in teacher education. The overarching goal of the School of Education is to prepare students for careers in education.
Primary Purpose of Position
The Time Limited Project Manager oversees all administrative components of the program and reports directly to the Program Director. The Time Limited Project Manager is responsible for the execution and supervision of all operational aspects of the program including, but not limited to, housing, transportation, security, insurance, and counseling. The Time Limited Project Manager coordinates with the various offices inside and outside NCCU that engage with the program regarding its day-to-day operations and ensures the program is operating optimally. The Time Limited Project Manager is also the main point of contact for all stakeholders regarding questions that address program implementation and partnerships.

Minimum Education/Experience
• Master’s degree in Special Education, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field

• Demonstrated success in leading administrative tasks, project and team management, and communication.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Function Communication - Verbal/Written
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Communicate with staff members on a regular basis and monitor program quality and satisfaction
Excellent written communication and proofreading skills for preparing correspondence, documents and reports, utilizing correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Superior verbal and interpersonal communication skills for effectively interacting with individuals at various levels within the organization
Demonstrates tact, a positive attitude, and courtesy and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, and the public
Respond promptly and courteously to all phone, email and in person inquiries, providing exceptional customer service
Ensures a response to both internal/external inquiries are made within 24 hours; ensures office phone voicemail is checked regular and messaging is appropriate to the office
Provides status updates regarding outstanding work responsibilities
Prepare program reports
Facilitate ongoing communication with families of prospective and enrolled students
Function Information/Records Administration
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Oversee all administrative aspects of the postsecondary program, with attention to details of the development and implementation of program activities.
Facilitate recruitment, selection and hiring of highly qualified staff members
Organize faculty, students and staff training across campus in support of those served by the program
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and the Internet, prefer experience with Canvas, Chrome River, and Banner 9
Follows established financial guidelines, including travel and purchasing and complete travel request and reimbursement for staff/faculty using Chrome River
Facilitate People Admin transactions (postings, updating job descriptions, preparing job descriptions for posting)
Facilitate procurement transactions in Eagle Purch
Function Problem Solving
Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities related to the function.
Work directly with the Program Director to collaborate on programmatic decisions and implementation regarding the postsecondary program
Serve as the program liaison when there are operational or programmatic challenges and coordinate the response team when situations involving the program and/or its participants demand action
Exercise good judgement in sensitive, complex and/or new situations
Set priorities, organize, coordinate duties with other administrative personnel, and work under pressure in a dynamic environment
Self-motivated, with the ability to anticipate needs and initiate action
Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet strict deadlines
Work independently as well as function effectively in a team within a diverse group of people anticipates needs of the program and works proactively to meet them
Engages in behaviors/actions that benefit of the department and its students
Ensures assigned office space is kept neat, uncluttered and secure to ensure confidentiality of information, maintain order and ensure an orderly appearance
Advises the Director on major developments or challenges associated with operations/processes
Identifies needed changes in policies, procedures and systems and provides recommendations for effective solutions to the chair
Participates in academic event planning, as assigned, including but not limited to attending the events
