Job Description

Summary

The lab is seeking a Research Technician II. The laboratory works on lipid and lipoprotein metabolism, as well as the development of novel somatic genome editing approaches. This technician will be responsible for production and purification of Adeno-Associated Viral vectors on a weekly basis.

Job Duties

  • Works on production and purification of Adeno-Associated Viral vectors on a weekly basis.
  • Manages mouse colonies, and assists in performing experiments using mouse models.
  • Performs tasks that include shipping and receiving packages, keeping inventory of supplies, and keeping purchasing records.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related discipline.
  • Experience working with mouse models is desired but not required.
  • Experience in molecular biology- including PCR, cloning, western blotting and cell culture is a plus.
  • Has excellent critical thinking skills, organization, and attention to detail.
