Salary Range
$55,000.00 depending on qualifications
Essential Functions
The Videographer/Photographer plays an essential role in UTPB's Marketing & Communications Department, supporting the university's mission through compelling visual storytelling that enhances recruitment, branding, and engagement. This position is responsible for planning, capturing, and editing photo and video content that highlights academic excellence, student life, athletics, events, and campus culture. Collaborating closely with the Creative Director and campus partners, the Videographer/Photographer ensures all content aligns with UTPB's brand identity and strategic goals. The role requires creativity, technical proficiency, and strong project management skills to produce high-quality visuals that elevate the University's image across multiple digital and print platforms. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about using visual media to tell meaningful stories that inspire and connect with diverse audiences.
1. Plan, shoot, edit, and deliver photo and video content including portraits, stills, B-roll, testimonials, and short-form and long-form videos across a range of subjects (academics, student life, athletics, events, facilities, research).
2. Produce and deliver assets optimized for multiple channels, including websites, email newsletters, social media (horizontal and vertical formats), YouTube, print, and digital campaigns.
3. Manage the full production lifecycle: pre-production (storyboarding, scheduling, location scouting), on-site production (lighting and audio setup), and post-production (editing, color correction, audio mixing, motion graphics).
4. Maintain and organize media asset libraries (videos, photos, raw footage, project files) with consistent naming conventions and organizational structures.
5. Support event coverage including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends for campus events such as commencements and community functions.
6. Collaborate with University stakeholders—including faculty, staff, students, and external partners—to ensure content fulfills strategic objectives and aligns with UTPB brand standards.
7. Stay current with evolving production technologies, editing software (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom), and best practices for visual storytelling.
8. Ensure compliance with intellectual property laws, music licensing, and University brand guidelines.
9. Conduct regular equipment maintenance and maintain an accurate inventory of cameras, lenses, lighting kits, tripods, and storage media.
10. Manage multiple concurrent projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to feedback and shifting priorities.

Required Qualifications
1. Two (2) years of professional experience in videography and photography.
2. Demonstrated experience in video production and photography, including lighting, audio, and post-production.
3. Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality photo and video work, storytelling ability, and both short-form and long-form projects.
4. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom) and professional camera systems (DSLR, mirrorless, or cinema cameras).
5. Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
6. Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-departmental teamwork.
7. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and events as required.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience with motion graphics, color grading, and audio mixing.
2. Familiarity with managing large media libraries and digital asset management systems.
3. Understanding of brand strategy, social media optimization, and digital marketing tactics.
4. Experience in higher education or agency environments.
5. Knowledge of copyright, licensing, and usage rights for creative content.

Schedule
Generally, the normal work hours for the university are Monday through Thursday, 7:30 - 5:30 pm; Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm with a one-hour lunch. The individual holding this position may need to be available early morning, evening, and on weekends to meet the needs of the department. Hours worked may differ with some departments.
Standard Working Conditions
1. Able to lift various materials up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
2. Able to bend, crouch, and reach continuously.
3. Physically able remain seated, frequently to continuously.
4. Able to remain standing up to 15% of the time.
5. Possesses dexterity abilities required to perform job duties including extensive keyboard work, operating office equipment, performing filing, and other job-related responsibilities that include extensive wrist and hand movement.
