Job Description
Position SummaryDevelop and implement training strategies and initiatives aligned with the university’s and NYU IT’s goals and objectives. Collaborate with service managers across the Instructional Technology teams to assist in the development and continuity of a training plan and strategy. Collaborate with all Instructional Technology Services (ITS), including the Learning Management System (LMS), media tools, Learning Analytics coding services, and third-party integrations, to identify training needs, develop and design consistent training programs, and facilitate the delivery of training materials that will serve the teaching and learning needs of the university. Collaborate with various schools and units to assess the overall use of instructional technology and help guide strategic planning efforts in areas of training, consultations, workshops, and communication. Develop a holistic training strategy including creating a standard training model and curriculum and/or series. Manage high-level consultative services for the learning management system and resolve issues as needed for the LMS team. In the event of an outage or service disruption, this position may be required to participate in support during off-hour system disruptions.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent n educational media, instructional technology, training and development or related fields
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in educational media, instructional technology, training and development, or a related field.
Required Experience:
3+ years relevant professional experience in higher education or related experience in educational media, instructional technology, training and development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience in training and supporting faculty and students in the use of learning management systems or other instructional technology and media services.
Preferred Experience:
3+ years Proven experience working as a trainer or similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to maintain high levels of creativity and quality. Ability to be flexible in work assignments that may require changing priorities regularly. Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet project deadlines, stay on track, and communicate workflow obstacles while working on multiple ongoing projects simultaneously with great efficiency and attention to detail. Self-starter with the ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced atmosphere with high standards for quality, accuracy, and innovation. Ability to be proactive, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and work with little supervision. A positive, cooperative attitude that supports the university and its mission.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Plan and assist training opportunities for instructional and media applications used to support teaching and learning in a higher education environment. Experience in tutoring or training small or large groups of people.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $85,500.00 to USD $104,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
