The Executive Director of Technology Portfolio Management is a strategic enterprise leader accountable for maximizing the impact of a $500M+ technology investment portfolio. This role ensures every initiative is prioritized, funded, and executed to deliver measurable business outcomes aligned with organizational strategy. Reporting to the VP, Technology Business Officer, the Executive Director drives portfolio management, benefit realization, and performance transparency across nine portfolios. By partnering with finance, product, and other enterprise technology and business teams, this leader influences capital allocation decisions, mitigates risk, and fosters a culture of accountability, agility, and continuous improvement.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Lead the development and enforcement of portfolio management frameworks for intake, prioritization, and benefit realization.

  • Oversee governance processes for a $500M+ technology portfolio, ensuring transparency, compliance, and strategic alignment.

  • Deliver executive-level dashboards and insights on portfolio health, performance, and risk exposure to inform C-suite decisions.

  • Partner with finance and enterprise governance bodies to align technology investments with capital planning and organizational priorities.

  • Implement robust methodologies to measure ROI, strategic impact, and operational performance across all programs.

  • Monitor benefit realization and provide actionable recommendations to optimize investment outcomes.

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and embedding best practices that evolve with business needs.

  • Align funding, capacity, and resource allocation with prioritized initiatives to maximize value and minimize duplication.

  • Collaborate with finance and business management teams on cost-benefit analysis and budget optimization.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate portfolio risks, ensuring resilience and adaptability in execution.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, shaping portfolio strategy and investment decisions.

  • Lead change management initiatives to drive adoption of portfolio governance processes and cultural transformation.

  • Represent the Technology Portfolio Management function in enterprise forums and industry networks, positioning the organization as a leader in portfolio excellence.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor degree or advanced degree preferred (MBA or equivalent)
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise portfolio management, PMO leadership, or technology strategy roles.

  • 7 years of experience in a leadership capacity

  • Proven track record managing large-scale technology portfolios ($500M+).

  • Expertise in financial modeling, ROI/ROO analysis, and KPI-driven performance management.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $88.56 - $147.90 / hour
